I welcome you to my anniversary party this Saturday! Mr. Andre Del Curto, one of our renowned in-house chefs, will spread a mouth-watering Summer Barbecue for us. After meat and wine, and before dessert, Fr. Mark Wagner and I have a vocations program for you. Our goal? To show everyone, especially young people, the life of a priest. What drives a young man to enter a seminary, and what does he find on the other side? We’ll show a few brief vocations videos, such as the acclaimed God in the Streets, as well as lots of pictures from the lives of your average priests in this area (including yours truly).  I want all the children to come, so that although the tickets are $5 for children, $10 buys a ticket for an unlimited number of children (one per family, please!). Tickets are available on the plaza, or at the parish office, and I’ve got a fistful of free tickets if you can find me. Bring your own children, and all the children on your block! The time to plant the seed of the priestly vocation is when our children are still young. God is calling plenty of men to the priesthood; our priest shortage is due to the fact that many are not hearing His Call. Let’s keep working to make his call audible and visible to our dear young people.
