The Gift of Knowing Jesus Christ

The goal of Religious Education at St. Joseph's is to support your relationship with God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In this section you will find resources and information to live Catholic Stewardship by increasing your faith, strengthening your hope and deepening your love of God and neighbor. In the bible the word knowledge is used to describe not merely knowing facts like someone's name, but knowing them personally. Knowing God involves a relationship. God reveals Himself to us and we respond to this gift as thankful stewards of His providence.

"Catechism" Classes for Children grades 1-12 Our School of Religion strives to be a “family-centered” program. We partner with parents to nourish and develop children’s faith according to the basic principle defined by the Church: Parents are the primary educators of their children. In the family children learn traditional prayers and the art of prayer, attend Mass every Sunday, and parents lead children in living a life a charity.    click here to visit PSR

Pope Benedict XVI's vision for leadership in catechesis

"The need to proclaim Christ boldly and courageously is a continuing priority for the Church; indeed it is a solemn duty laid upon her by Christ who enjoined the Apostles to "go out to the whole world, proclaim the Good News to all creation" (Mk 16:16)... This in turn requires sound catechesis, based on the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the Compendium..."

Evangelization

Pope John Paul II invited Catholics to engage in the New Evangelization. It is new because it focuses on evangelizing (sharing the good news of Jesus Christ) those you encounter in your daily life through ordinary witness to the blessing of living as a disciple and steward of Jesus Christ in His family the Catholic Church. This section includes resources and information for the New Evangelization.
